Return to: Programs
Students enrolled within a degree program may elect to take the Minor in Pilates which is separate from the Minor in Dance. The minor incorporates a professional internship with opportunities of employment in the global Pilates field as trainers, teachers, rehabilitation therapists, and practitioners. The minor requires more courses than the certificate in order to incorporate a more complete approach to tactile cueing. Students can take either DAN 108 Pilates I for 1 credit or PEX 161 Pilates I for 1 credit under Physical Education. Both DAN 108 and PEX 161 are taught by the same instructors.
Please see the UNLV College of Fine Arts Department of Dance web page at www.unlv.edu/dance for information about department programs, faculty and facilities. Degree worksheets are available at www.unlv.edu/degree/minor-pilates.
