Majors and their Distribution Area Assignments


UNLV’s General Education Curriculum has three distribution content area  requirements: (1) Humanities and Fine Arts, (2) Life and Physical Sciences and Analytical Thinking, and (3) Social Sciences. A student’s coursework in their major automatically satisfies one of the three General Education Distribution Content requirements. Students are required to fulfill the other TWO General Education Distribution content requirements that are OUTSIDE their major’s distribution content area. In majors that are classified as “Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Programs” (UIDPs) operating under the “Collaboratively Managed Model” between two or more UNLV Colleges, students may be allowed to fulfill up to TWO degree-relevant General Education Distribution Content requirements. The Distribution Content requirement areas that are automatically satisfied by completing the following majors are listed below:
