Admission Requirements
Each student must satisfy the following requirements for admission into the Master of Science in Accounting:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
- Students must have satisfactorily completed introductory financial accounting.
- A minimum GMAT score of 550 and a minimum score in the 25th percentile or higher on Verbal and a minimum score in the 25th percentile or higher on Quantitative.
- The GMAT may be waived for UNLV accounting students who have a 3.25 GPA in the core accounting courses (ACC 400, 401, 402, 405, 409, 410 and 470) or equivalent.
- Compliance with the Graduate College admission standards.

Degree Requirements
The student and the department graduate program coordinator will design each degree program. Students seeking a Master of Science in Accounting must comply with all general university requirements as outlined in the Graduate Catalog. In addition, the following specific requirements must be satisfied. Track I: Students Holding a Baccalaureate in Accounting
All students must complete a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours, including at least 18 credit hours in 700-level courses. These courses must include the following:
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in accounting.
- A maximum of 12 graduate credit hours outside the accounting discipline.
Program Modifications
The Graduate Coordinator must approve exceptions or modifications of above program and requirements. |
