Dance Minor

The minor in dance provides a UNLV student majoring in another area the opportunity to investigate the area of dance and design a series of classes that cater to the students areas of interest within the milieu of the dance art form.

Learning Outcomes
- Students in the Dance Minor will be able to understand dance as a concert art form.
- Student in the Dance Minor will gain knowledge of the historical development of dance from Prehistoric to the 20th century.
- Students in Dance will choose courses to investigate and demonstrate their knowledge of the areas of dance technique, aesthetics, design, choreography, performance, dance music theory, pedagogy, kinesiology, pilates, etc.

University Graduation Requirements
To obtain this minor, you must be a degree seeking undergraduate student pursuing an approved UNLV bachelor’s degree. Please see Graduation Policies for complete information.
Dance Minor - Credits: 21
Dance minors must have a total of at least 12 upper-division (300-400) level Dance Department credits.
Required Courses - Credits: 6
Elective Courses - Credits: 15
At least 6 credits of Dance Department elective courses must be completed at the upper-division (300-400) level.
