BIOL 463 - Genetics of Human Disease
Investigate the mechanisms by which gene and genome variations change cell RNA & protein production, biochemistry, and function, resulting in human disease and disorders. Through clinical case studies, learn from the perspective of a health care professional applying genetic and genomic principles to the practice of medicine. Crosslisted with BIOL 663. Credit at the 600-level requires additional work.
Credits: 3 Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in each of the following: BIOL 190A and BIOL 190L (formerly BIOL 196), BIOL 191A and BIOL 191L (formerly BIOL 197), CHEM 121A and CHEM 121L , CHEM 122A and CHEM 122L , ENG 102 or ENG 114 or HON 100 , MATH 127 or 128 or 181 , and BIOL 300 or 304.
