HIST 433C - African-American History since 1877
Same as AAS 433C Examination of the emergence of African-Americans from the aftermath of the Civil War to the present. Themes include the restrictions imposed by Jim Crow, segregation beyond the South, the Civil Rights movement, inner city rebellions and the new Black cultural movement.
Credits: 3 Prerequisites: Six credits of history. Notes: Satisfies Multiculural and Humanities Requirements. Credit at the graduate-level requires additional work; this course is crosslisted with HIST 633C.
