In the Minor in Film, students learn the foundations of visual storytelling, skills that can be applied to any field.

Learning Outcomes
- Identify Film History in Context. Distinguish major figures of world cinema and distinguish different film genres.
- Comprehend Film Language. Communicate cinematic language in terms of the art and craft of cinema including: mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, sound, acting, directing, narrative storytelling, documentary, film criticism and film theory.
- Write Filmic Analysis. Implement the terms taught and apply them to any discussion and assignment of the field of cinema.

To obtain this minor, you must be a degree seeking undergraduate student pursuing an approved UNLV bachelor’s degree. Please see Graduation Policies for complete information. Film Minor - Total Credits:18
Required Courses - Credits: 12
Upper-Division FILM Courses - Credits: 6
