Theatre Arts Minor

The Theatre Arts minor offers students the opportunity to explore various aspects of Theatre including acting for both stage and screen, design elements and their implementation, dramatic literature and history.

Learning Outcomes

  • Communication:  Actors learn to communicate the ideas of a play to an audience.  Designers and technicians enhance that communication visually. Collaboration is an essential technique for theatre artists.
  • Inquiry and Critical Thinking: Understanding and interpreting dramatic literature and forms requires research, analysis and evaluation to develop most effective methods to present ideas to each other and an audience.
  • Global/Multicultural Knowledge and Awareness: Theatre is a global tradition rooted in pre-history.  It’s study challenges, informs, and embraces all aspects of humanity.
