Financial Aid Application Prcedures

UNLV recognizes the diversity of our student body and, as such, uses two methods to determine financial aid eligibility.

1. All students who are eligible to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required to complete this as an application for both federal and institutional funding. This application is available at fafsa.gov and should be completed every year on or after October 1. Once an application is submitted, students may be instructed to submit various supporting documents to assist in determining their eligibility for financial assistance. The timely and accurate completion of these processes is of utmost importance to the awarding process.
2. Students who are not eligible to complete the FAFSA or receive Federal Financial Aid are encouraged to complete the Alternate Need Form unlv.edu/finaid/forms for UNLV need-based grant or scholarship consideration. This form is also available October 1 of each year and should be submitted through the Rebel Success Hub at unlv.my.site.com/selfservice/login.
