Pilates Minor

Students enrolled within a degree program may elect to take the Pilates Minor which is separate from the Dance Minor.  The minor requires more courses than the Certificate in Pilates Training , including a more in depth internship experience. Students can take either DAN 108 - Pilates I  for 1 credit or PEX 161 - Pilates I  for 1 credit under Physical Education.  Both DAN 108  and PEX 161  are taught by the same instructors.

Developed by Dolly Kelepecz, who introduced Pilates to Las Vegas in 1987, the DK Body Balancing Method™ is based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates and Eve Gentry. This program grants a Minor in Pilates, preparing students for employment in the global field as Pilates trainers, teachers, rehabilitation therapists, and practitioners.

Please see the UNLV College of Fine Arts Department of Dance web page for information about department programs, faculty and facilities.  Degree worksheets are on the UNLV Degrees Directory.
