The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Film is designed to give students the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in an entry-level position in the film industry and/or to pursue a graduate degree in a program that matches their professional goals, whether those involve production, screenwriting, or scholarly studies in cinema.

Second-Year Seminar - Credits: 3

Humanities and Fine Arts - Credits: 0
- Automatically satisfied by Major requirements
Social Science - Credits: 9
- One course each from three different fields
Natural Science and Analytical Thinking - Credits: 10
- Two courses from Natural Science; at least one course must have a lab
- Analytical Thinking 3 credit course
Multicultural and International Requirements - Credits: 0-6
- Multicultural, one 3 credit course required
- International, one 3 credit course required
These courses may overlap with general education and major requirements. A single course may not meet the multicultural and international requirements simultaneously. List of approved Multicultural and International courses. Major Requirements - BA in Film - Credits: 60-63

Computer Science - Credits: 3
- Complete one 3 credit computer science course. FILM 315 is recommended.
Foreign Language - Credits: 6
Complete two 3 credit foreign language courses. Students must enroll in two semesters of the same foreign language approved by the department. Required Courses - Credits: 18
Film History - Credits: 9
Complete three courses from the following: Film Forms - Credits: 6
Complete two courses from the following: Film Upper-Division Electives - Credits: 21
Complete seven upper-division (300 or 400 level) elective courses from additional film department offerings in concert with Film Advisor. General Electives - Credits: 18-22
