Statistics Minor

This program will provide a solid understanding of differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, basic statistical analysis of data, and modern statistical methods such as confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. On completion of the program, the students should gain knowledge about using a statistical software (such as R or Minitab) and be able to communicate, in writing, the results of a statistical analysis of real data.

Our students that graduate with a minor in the Mathematical Sciences (Statistics Concentration) will…
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of differential and integral calculus, and be able to apply these concepts to a variety of problems.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of linear algebra and be able to apply these concepts to a variety of problems.
- Be able to describe, summarize, and analyze data.
- Be able to use a statistical software (such as R or Minitab) to perform statistical computations.
- Communicate effectively in writing the results of a statistical analysis.

Statistics Minor - Total Credits: 20
No course in which a grade of C- or lower is earned may be applied to any minor in the College of Science.
