Same as HIST 227 Survey of the development of the Iberian states as colonizing powers, the discovery and conquest of America, the growth of political, social, and economic institutions during the Colonial Period (c. 1492 to c. 1810), as well as substantial discussion of the legacy of the Colonial Period.
