HIST 751 - Museums and American Culture

Theoretical and practical introduction to issues involved in history museums. Evolving role of museums in American society; organizational, ethical, and interpretive issues; the tension between power and the production of knowledge and memory. Emphasis on curatorial practice including researching and interpreting material culture. May be repeated to a maximum of 15 credits.
