CEE 682 - Design of Timber Structures

Credits 3

Determination of simple wind and seismic forces on one- and two-story structures. Discussion of engineering properties of wood. Introduction to the design of sawn beams for flexure, shear, bearing and deflection. Introduction to the design of axially loaded columns. Brief introduction to the design of trusses, diaphragms and shear walls. Crosslisted with CEE 482. Credit at the 600-level requires additional work.
