THTR 681 - Theatre History I

Study of trends in performance and theatrical production beginning with earliest evidence and pausing at 1700. Adopting a global perspective. Explores all elements of theatre and performance, including environments, architecture, sets and costumes, acting styles, textual and non-textual performance scripts, theory, and audiences. Crosslisted with THTR 481. Credit at the 600 level requires additional work.

Graduate standing.
