HIST 696 - Philosophy of History

Credits 3

Theory, epistemology, and methodology of historiography, dealing with such questions as the nature, aims, and methods of history; its status as a science; the legitimacy of the so-called speculative philosophy of history; and the structure of historical knowledge. Crosslisted with HIST 496 and PHIL 437. Credit at the 600-level requires additional work.
