DEN 7320 - Clinical Medicine I

Clinical Medicine is incorporated into the curriculum in sequence with the completion of biomedical and clinical science foundational instructional material and at the beginning of significant interaction with patients. Organized by organ systems with a description of diseases affecting each system. Additionally, while the oral manifestations of medical disorders are important dental diagnostic and therapeutic considerations, the concepts of medical management and its impact on dental management are particularly emphasized. The goal is to achieve maximum integration between the study of disease, the study of the patient, and the diagnostic and therapeutic processes in the oral health care setting. Essential critical thinking and problem solving skills are developed through case studies of the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
