DEN 7123 - Introduction to Dentistry

This course is an introduction to the dental profession. As an oral health provider, the aspiring dentist must be exposed to a multitude of factors that are related to patient care. These include issues related to a person-centered approach to dental practice, and include issues related to patient safety, ethics, and decision making using evidenced based principles. This course is structured to focus on the ethics and professional responsibilities related to patient care including safe best practices and universal precautions, patient assessment, evidence-based dentistry, and treatment planning concepts that are foundational for the practice of dentistry.
