DEN 7108 - ​Microbiological and Immunological Concepts Part II: Oral and Infectious Diseases

This course introduces the fundamentals of virology, infectious diseases and elements of the immune response to common pathogens.  Clinical case studies will be used to illustrate infectious processes in oral and systemic diseases, with emphasis on infections of or impact on the oral cavity.  Retrovirology, with an emphasis on Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and an overview of several opportunistic infections will also be covered.
