The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV received preliminary accreditation in 2016. The school is a full-scale, four-year allopathic medical school that is an integral part of a vibrant, research-intensive public university. The medical school’s mission is to improve access to high-quality health care in Southern Nevada by increasing the number of physicians and trained specialists who are committed to serving the region. One of the primary goals of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV is to provide diverse and medically underserved populations access to timely high quality health care. The accompanying academic health center will serve as the core infrastructure for the entire medical community and generate top-quality research that spans the basic and clinical sciences.
Our vision is to create a world-class center of excellence and innovation for medical education, patient care, and research that prepares Nevada’s physicians with the most advanced knowledge, treatments, and technologies while serving the health care needs of our diverse urban community.
