A Message from the Dean of the Graduate College
Dr. Kate Hausbeck Korgan
Welcome to the Graduate College at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas! I am pleased to invite you to explore our Graduate Catalog to familiarize yourself with the stellar graduate programs we offer. I also encourage you to peruse our website to better understand the breadth and depth of the services that we provide to prospective students, current students, graduate faculty, alumni, and donors.
UNLV’s more than 150 graduate programs offer outstanding quality and opportunity for admitted graduate students. At UNLV, graduate students – also known as Grad Rebels – are able to work closely with world-class graduate faculty who are conducting research and engaging in scholarly and creative activities to improve the well-being of our community and state, and positively impact our nation and the world. We pride ourselves on cultivating a diverse campus culture that promotes graduate faculty excellence, graduate program quality, and support for our graduate students. A key part of the graduate educational experience here is our students’ involvement in the performance of superior research, innovative scholarly endeavors, and inspired creative activities.
UNLV is classified by The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as a Higher Research Activity, Comprehensive Doctoral Institution with Medical School. Recognized as a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) by the U.S. Department of Education, UNLV has a diverse student population comprised of more than 30,000 students, of whom more than 5,000 are graduate and professional student scholars, and more than 1,000 are funded as Graduate Assistants. Our community of scholars is supported by more than 3,300 faculty and staff, whose research, scholarship, creative and innovative activities, leadership, and teaching create a vibrant and exciting center of learning.
